(ANSA) -Rome, April 7 - A Serie A sporting judge ruled
soccer club AS Roma must shut down its so-called Curva Sud ultra
stadium section for one home match, ANSA learned Tuesday.
The decision came after Roma supporters displayed banners
against the mother of late Napoli fan Ciro Esposito during a
game against Napoli on Saturday.
Esposito, 29, died of his injuries on June 25 last year
after being shot by Roma fan Daniele De Santis in clashes before
the Italian Cup final in the capital on May 3.
The judge said the four banners contained "insulting
provocations" aimed at Esposito's mother and were accompanied by
chants denoting "territorial discrimination".
