(ANSA) - Rome, September 18 - A package of measures aimed at
boosting investment in the Italian economy will be unveiled this
week, the government said Wednesday.
The so-called Destination Italy package featuring 35
inward-nvestment-enhancing measures will be presented at a
cabinet meeting on Thursday, Transport and Infrastructure
Minister Maurizio Lupi said.
Part of the process will involve establishing Destination
Italy SpA, an body that will gather financial resources and
repackage them to make available to companies seeking
investment.
It will also provide assistance in better understanding and
navigating business law.
Premier Enrico Letta recently announced his "Destination
Italy" project, involving several ministries working together to
lure foreign direct investment into the country.
Investment in Italy is lower than in its competitors, with
rigid labour laws, slow justice and red tape frequently blamed.
