(ANSA) - Rimini, July 19 - Costa, the operator of the Costa Concordia cruise ship which ran aground off the Tuscan coast in January killing 32 passengers, has paid a "six zero" sum in damages to the family of the youngest victim. The payment was confirmed by lawyers for the family of Dayana Arlotti, 5 years old, and her father, Williams Arlotti. Arlotti perished in the Jan 13 accident, when the Concordia hit rocks as it was passing close by Giglio Island. The exact value of the seven-figure sum is protected by a secrecy clause agreed to by Costa and the family. As part of a deal the Arlotti family also withdraw as civil plaintiffs in a criminal lawsuit against the cruise ship operator that is taking place in Grosseto.
