Drunk driver sentenced to 18 years

Turin, January 20 - A Turin appeals court on Wednesday sentenced a man who killed four motorists while driving drunk to 18 years four months in prison. Albanian national Ilir Beti was found guilty of murder for speeding the wrong way and in a state of inebriation down the A26 motorway near the Piedmont city of Alessandria, causing the death of four French people and injuring a fifth in 2011. The parents of the deceased hailed the verdict with tears and applause. The case still has to go to the supreme Cassation Court for a final verdict.
