Video installation Reaction Roma inaugurated
At MACRO museum in Testaccio
Rome, November 14 - A new video installation, Reaction Roma, has opened at the MACRO Museum in the Italian capital's Testaccio district. The installation, the first of a series dedicated to European capitals, was inaugurated at MACRO's Factory exhibition site on Friday and will remain on display until December 3. The installation vies to describe the city from a new perspective by enabling regular citizens to use smart phones, tablets and video cameras to film their own videos and describe their point of view on the city. Over the past 12 months, director Pietro Jona and the Reaction team, through the website www.reactionroma.it, processed hundreds of videos filmed by citizens and video makers in the city center and the suburbs, using social media to reach out and describe the city's many souls. A great number of young people have participated through schools and libraries in the project, which was promoted by the city administration under the patronage of the Lazio region.
