Five-year-old dead after fall from fourth-floor balcony

(ANSA) - Messina, June 1 - A five-year-old boy died Monday of injuries sustained in a fall from the fourth-floor balcony of his family home near Messina, police said. The child fell on Saturday after he somehow toppled over the balcony railing. Investigations are continuing and police suggested the child was alone in house. However, his mother disputed that and said that she was present but the child was out of her sight for a moment.
