Delrio says no problem behind DEF delay - update
(ANSA) - Rome, April 10 - Transport and Infrastructure Minister Graziano Delrio said Friday that there were no major problems behind the decision to postpone the cabinet meeting to approve the government's economic blueprint, the economic and financial document.
The meeting to discuss the DEF, which was originally scheduled to start at 10:00 local time Friday, has been delayed until 20:00.
"There's no problem," Delrio said.
"The delay is due to the fact that the (DEF) papers arrived late last night and we have decided to have a last look at them in order to do things seriously; to take another 12 hours for a final reading". Sources said that the delay was caused by a request from Renzi for the various ministries to "cleanse" their parts of the documents, to eliminate repetitions and inaccuracies. The aim is to send the definitive version of the DEF to the European Commission before midnight.
