Canoe overturns in Bari harbor, one man dead

(ANSA) - Rome, March 9 - a 55-year-old man is dead after a canoeing accident in the Bari harbour in southern Italy, police said Monday. Nicola Mangialardi, 55, of Modugno near Bari, died after the canoe he was in overturned after bumping into a pontoon. A friend in the canoe, which was returning to the dock of the University Centre for Sports, sustained only minor injuries. The accident came as the victim was completing a training program.
