Daylight savings in Italy to end Sunday
(ANSA) - Rome, October 24 - Italians will turn back their clocks one hour this weekend as daylight savings comes to an end on Sunday. Seven months of one extra hour of daytime sunlight saved 549.7 million kWh, enough to cover the annual average power consumption of 205,000 households, and 91 million euros, said grid operator Terna.
The months of April and October, with the shortest days of the daylight savings period, saw the biggest energy savings. Daylight savings will begin again on March 29, 2015.
