Rome, January 14 - Giorgio Squinzi, head of the industrial employers' federation Confindustria, on Thursday said a proposal from Italy's big three trade unions on contract renewals was "already superseded". He said the proposal from CGIL, CISL and UIL "seems more like a faded photograph than a choice to innovate the country". "From what I have read it seems that the unions are taking one step forward and two steps back. Their proposal has already been supersedes by the category contracts that have been agreed recently and by our proposals for the contracts to be renewed, light years more innovative than the platform of CGIL, CISL and UIL". Squinzi said "six months have been wasted, since i invited them to the table".
