(ANSA) - Rome, January 22 - A Rome court has recognised a
little-known Italian actor as the fourth child of legendary
crooner Domenico Modugno.
Fabio Camilli, 51, is the child of a relationship the
'Volare' singer-songwriter had with choreographer Maurizia Calì,
the court ruled.
Camilli had been fighting for years to prove he was
Modugno's son.
Modugno, who died aged 66 in 1994, had three children with
wife Franca Gandolfi, an actress and singer.
The Puglia-born artist, considered the first of Italy's
singer-songwriters, won the 1958 Sanremo song festival with 'Nel
Blu Dipinto Di Blu' (In the Blue Painted Blue), the song with
the immortal 'Volare' (Flying) chorus.
It became an enormous success worldwide, including the
United States, receiving two Grammy Awards with sales above 22
million copies.
Modugno went on to make a string of popular and critically
acclaimed records as well as starring in 44 films.
