Airports chief may face trial over Fiumicino fire (2)

Rome, January 12 - The CEO of Rome airports company Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), Lorenzo Lo Presti, is among 10 people risking indictments for a fire that swept through Fiumicino Airport's Terminal 3 in May last year. The suspects may face charges of negligent arson and bodily harm in the blaze that released toxic substances into the air. Lo Presti was placed under investigation on suspicion of breaching norms on worker safety. Five air-conditioning maintenance workers were probed for possibly causing the blaze while others were investigated for toxic substances released by the fire which may have harmed staff.
