Vatican warns against using bleach on church art (3)
Could cause 'irreversible damage' says culture council
Vatican City, May 20 - The Vatican on Wednesday warned against the possible "irreversible damage" that might be caused to church art if too much bleach was used on it. The Pontifical Council for Culture said it had received reports that bleach had been used too freely to disinfect churches and warned "we must avoid causing irreversible damage to the most precious and delicate objects in our churches" because of the COVID-19 emergency.
