Car 'eco-tax won't go through' says Salvini

Rome, December 6 - Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Thursday that his League party will not allow a proposal for a new "eco-tax', designed to encourage people to buy cars with a lower environmental impact, to pass. "(I'm in favour of) protecting the environment, but without imposing new taxes," Salvini told an ANSA Forum. "It will never pass with me or the support of the League".
