Continue dialogue with China govt says pope

Vatican City, September 26 - Pope Francis on Wednesday urged the Chinese government, in the wake of a deal between the Holy See and Beijing about appointing government-approved bishops, to continue dialogue with the Vatican. "May friendship grow," the pontiff said in a message to the Chinese people on the accord struck at the weekend. Francis urged Chinese Catholics to be "united and also good citizens" and said they should be the "artificers of reconciliation".
