Val d'Aosta mulling to ask state of 'calamity'
Frosts have hit crops hard

Aosta, April 21 - The Val d'Aosta region is mulling whether to ask Rome to declare a state of natural calamity after days of punishing frosts hit crops in the northwestern region hard. Regional farm chief Laurent Vierin said the damage ranged from 30% to 100% for vineyards and other fruit and vegetables.
