Rome, February 15 - Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan said Wednesday that Italy's banks should "make better use of the instruments" they have to get rid of the bad loans on their balance sheets. "It's up to the banks, both to take advantage of the new legislative instruments, and of the fact that the (economic) climate is improving, to free themselves of non-performing loans," he said.
