Perugia, January 7 - The Carabinieri bomb squad on Thursday detonated a rudimentary explosive device that had been left outside a Banca Etruria branch in the Perugia suburb of Ponte San Giovanni. The device consisted of an envelope containing batteries, fertilizer, and rusty nails. Banca Etruria is one of four small lenders that was rescued by the government last year, one of whose clients committed suicide after his lifetime savings went up in smoke.
